Other Committee · Meeting of August 24, 2026

Marshfield's Board of Public Works approved roughly $559,000 in contracts and flagged unauthorized road digging on Winslow Avenue Extension. Superintendent Matt said a builder dug up a 40-foot public road and installed a new utility pole without an evident permit, warning "there's no reason why a builder would run a bulldozer down there for themselves." The board awarded a $254,109 wastewater residuals contract to Wastewater Services of Plymouth, a $91,000 carbon-replacement deal to Carbon Activated for the town's highest-PFAS well, and a $42,180 sewer manhole repair to Speedman Excavating. Matt also said FEMA granted one final extension on drainage funding tied to the area, calling it "our last shot," contingent on town funding at the October 2026 Special Town Meeting.

Separately, crews are fighting a Water Street main break that's already seven feet deep with more digging to go.
