Other Committee · Meeting of October 5, 2026
Marshfield DPW awards $234,000 across five contracts, hears Brant Rock seawall plea. The Board of Public Works voted 3-0 to extend a bulldozer services contract with Wayne Lopes Grading for $68,000 and awarded Kimley-Horn and Associates $92,155 to redesign a failing wastewater treatment plant sewer main. Residents Mary Murphy and Ruby "Jody" Estabrook asked the board for a partnership on the Brant Rock groin and seawall, telling members "we want to be a member of your team," but staff said the state's ECO One Stop grant doesn't fit the project and the earliest realistic funding window is 2028.
The board also awarded Colonial Stone $34,585 to assess roughly 774 Cedar Grove Cemetery headstones and debated a "disaster waiting to happen" crosswalk on Ocean Street, ultimately referring it to a traffic engineer.
