Marshfield's DPW board raises snow plow pay and adds signing bonuses for winter. The Board of Public Works voted unanimously Monday to increase contractor plowing rates about 10 percent, add a $500 signing bonus for contractors who complete paperwork by October 31, and a $500 season-end performance bonus, plus new labor rates of $50 an hour for a snowblower operator and $40 for a laborer with a shovel. The board also granted a hardship variance letting a new accessory dwelling unit at 111 Town Way connect water and sewer to Primrose Lane, forgave $4,367 of a water bill at 16 Park Street and $3,198.92 at David Kelly's 46 Ashburton Avenue after meter and software errors, and awarded roughly $200,000 in annual water line materials contracts to Economy Plumbing and Heating, Core & Main and E.J.
