Marshfield Housing Authority accepts two CPC grants, pursues $80,000 state match

MARSHFIELD — June 8, 2026 — Marshfield Housing Authority accepts two CPC grants and pursues up to $80,000 in state matching funds. The board unanimously approved a $55,000 Community Preservation Committee grant for cupola renovation at Grace Rider and a second CPC grant of slightly less than $25,000 for creation of a nonprofit community development corporation under the authority, then voted 4-1 to authorize an application for up to $80,000 through the state's High Leverage Asset Preservation Program — a matching program tied to the combined CPC awards — to fund cupola contingency costs and installation of benches and a pavilion at Grace Rider. The board also elected Commissioner Delgadillo as its new chair, replacing Commissioner Daly, who was simultaneously elected vice chair and treasurer; Commissioner Richardson was elected assistant treasurer. In a split discussion, commissioners voted to spend $1,000 to sponsor Marshfield Community Day on August 16 at Brant Rock, over one commissioner's objection that the event was "basically a summertime recreational thing" with poor targeting for prospective housing applicants.
