Marshfield Advisory Board Elects New Chair as Rowland Enters Select Board Race
MARSHFIELD — May 21, 2026 — Marshfield Advisory Board reorganizes leadership as chair steps aside to run for Select Board. At the May 21 meeting, Chair Chris Rowland announced he has filed nomination papers for a vacant Select Board seat and handed the chairmanship to Vin Falacara, who was elected unanimously; Peter was elected secretary and Scott retained the vice chair position. The board also announced the resignation of member Brian Crowley. The bulk of the meeting was a working session on fiscal year 2027 budget scenarios — no override, a $4 million override, and a $5.6 million override — with members agreeing to schedule weekly sessions with town accountant Meg and Superintendent Patrick Sullivan before town meeting. A board member reported that Building Commissioner Andrew Stewart's proposal to merge the building and zoning departments could save the town up to $10,000 under the no-override budget while still attracting candidates for a vacant inspector position, and that a review of the zoning office uncovered approximately $6,800 in uncashed permit-related checks.
