Marshfield ZBA Approves Eversource Facility, Dog Park Canopies, and Two Rebuild Permits

MARSHFIELD — April 14, 2026 — Marshfield's Zoning Board of Appeals approved a 40,000-square-foot Eversource Gas facility and cleared three other applications at its April 14 meeting. The board unanimously granted site plan approval for Zero Commerce Way LLC to construct the new building at 125 Commerce Way, which Marcus Partners' Josh Berman confirmed will serve as Eversource Gas's relocated service and pipe-storage operation; conditions include a ban on outdoor hazardous material storage, a potential Route 139 traffic mitigation contribution, and a pending fire department review of on-site hydrant needs. Peer review engineer Pat Brunnen of PGB Engineering confirmed all stormwater comments were resolved. The board also unanimously granted special permits for two raise-and-rebuild projects — Richard Charbonnier at 154 Standard Street and Christian and Megan Enright at 39th Road — and approved a waiver of site plan review for two permanent shade canopies at the Proprietors Drive dog park, replacing $5,000-per-summer tent rentals. In a late procedural correction, the board was forced to revote on the SFLLC application at 745 Webster Street, changing an initial withdrawal-without-prejudice to a denial-without-prejudice after the Zoning Administrator warned that leaving the withdrawal in place would trigger constructive approval by the April 29 statutory deadline.
