Marshfield's Conservation Commission voted 4-2 to reconsider its October 7 denial of a dock project at 12 Cariswell Street after Commissioner John O'Donnell said he mistakenly voted no when he meant yes. Chair Craig Hannafin said applicant Colin Bono later confronted Conservation Administrator Mike Seele at the Conservation Office, suggesting Seele's job was at risk, a matter now with the town administrator. Town Counsel Attorney Mark Galvin said reconsideration was procedurally allowed since no order of conditions had issued, but required Bono's written consent to a new deadline and a fresh public hearing.
Commissioners Sam Malafronte, Corey Miles, Elizabeth Lake and O'Donnell voted yes; Bert O'Donnell and Hannafin voted no. The new hearing is set for November 18, with a decision due December 9. Hannafin warned the move could set "a very dangerous precedent." Separately, the board approved a raise-and-rebuild at 22 5th Road and reviewed a $2,200-to-$10,000 tree-damage appraisal for unpermitted cutting on town land at 900 Ferry Street.
