Capital Planning · Meeting of October 13, 2026
Marshfield's Capital Planning Committee backed $12.2 million in town meeting requests at its first meeting under new leadership. The reorganized panel, with members identified only as Dean, Jeff and Doug serving as temporary chair, clerk and vice chair, unanimously recommended Article 7's $9,944,140 seawall and revetment project and Article 8's $2,260,000 enterprise-fund transfer for DPW equipment. DPW Superintendent Ken Ryan said FEMA, after years of delay, set an October 31 deadline to commit 75 percent reimbursement toward the seawall work, warning the town would otherwise "lose the 75% funding and be on the hook" itself.
One member noted "no one has really figured out what the potential borrowing cost is for the funding." Both articles head to Marshfield's October 26 special town meeting.
